Help me identify this vintage set

Hi all,

Can anyone help me identify this set?

I bought this neat vintage magnetic chess set at a thrift store for 7$ last week.

I’m really enjoying it and would love to find the missing pawns…

(3 white pawns and 1 black weren’t original)

Been looking all over the web and haven’t found it.

The red box should help but it has no markings and I haven’t seen anything like it in my web searches.

Chess pieces are made of wood (looks like lacquered boxwood) with inlaid magnet.

King is pretty much exactly 60 mm and pawn 28mm.

From my research it seems to be in a Lardy style from the look of the Knights.

Board size is 235x 237mm with 28mm squares in brown and cream.

The board is made of some type of plastic or vinyl (I don’t know my plastics) with a metal plate on each side and folds down the middle to fit in the red box. It’s a little heavy for its size.

The algebraic are not original, they have been written in using a pen or marker by a former owner.

Has anyone seen this before?

Thanks for your help!

Very pretty ensemble! Small magnetic wooden sets are not very widespread, I guess, so that will be tough to replace. But I have made a thread for such cases, feel free to repost a couple of your pics over there, if you wish.

In the meantime, get another incomplete set with vaguely similar pawns, or borrow some from another set to play your Lardys!
