Lookin at some chess sets for travel and casual play. I’m thinking of this 8x8 set… https://www.chessusa.com/product/small-best-magnetic-chess-set.html. Thoughts?

I think you´ll find it hard to play chess on any board larger or smaller than 8x8. 64 squares is what´s required (sorry, I couldn´t resist...). Seriously I don´t see the point in bringing anything smaller than tournament sized sets to a club. For travel anything goes and I use a wooden, magnetic, 7x7 (with bordersso the actual playing field is slighly less than 6x6). It´s serviceable for analysis and casual play but nothing I would bring to a club.

For me it might be more like a public play if that changes your mind. I travel a lot.
