How to stablish a serial port connection with a Novag Super Nova

Hi, recently I acquired a Novag super nova which it includes a serial port to connect external devices.

I am testing the connection with OSX and I am using the following cable:

In the terminal side, I am using the following command:

• screen /dev/cu.usbserial-0001 57600,cs8,-parenb,-cstopb
• minicom -b 57600 -8 -D /dev/cu.usbserial-0001

But unfortunately, I am not able to see the messages from the board.

Any help?

Maybe the problem is the serial to usb adapter that you’re using. Look at this page to see the only cable that works for the DGT boards.

You could ask the people at chesshouse.com how you can buy just the adapter. They might be able to help answer your Novag questions as they used to sell that brand up until the days when the manufacturer stopped making their dedicated machines.
