I made a pedestal table for my DGT Smartboard so I can set it next to the PC for online gaming. I used a 2x4 that was so old (@70 years) that it was non-standard in size and very dense (Cheney Lumber). Screws for the assembly, other than the 3 nails attaching table mount to the lower assembly (Kreg screws in feet and shelf). It cost me $11 for the levelers, $32 for a 2x4' sheet of 3/4" plywood. The lower shelf is for storing the 3000 Pi and extra queens. Table top measures 30.5 x 26.25" and is 26.5" from the floor with the levelers installed.
The table top is Sande brand from Home Depot and was flawless and flat. I used walnut stain.
Pic #2 shows version 3 of the table which allows storage for captures pieces on both sides of the board and now has adequate room, so I no longer typically store the Pi on the lower shelf. There is a small shelf for the Pi's external speaker and notches in the right rail for the Pi cabling.
Second monitor is an Electrow 10" touchscreen; external speaker is an AYL Mini Speaker.
The picture of the room above the monitor is a spoof on the Netflix movie: Vivarium
Lower pictures show I removed the side rails and stopped using the 3/4" platform under the board and created platforms for the queens (on pedestal) DGT 3000 clock and modified the speaker platform to be level with the table.
Current configuration - I removed the side rails and created platforms for the extra queens, DGT 3000 clock and speaker.
