Hi has anyone bought Jantar clock’s that come from Russian Federation? There seem to be a few on eBay and Etsy but it’s a lot of money to risk.

90 percent of them come from one of the former Soviet states, but you can often find ones sold in your own country. After all, England has many ex-Soviets running around. And if you are paying more than 50-70 pounds or so, you are being taken. They aren’t expensive clocks. You can often find them in the original packaging for under a $100 USD.

Can you give an example of parts falling off?

I can confirm that the Jantar build quality is not exactly stellar.

The Jerger Chess Clocks.  Hands down!

Too bad they stopped making them in the late 80's

If I'm not mistaken, many of those Jerger cases were made with oak. Built like a tank.

Admittedly the Jergers are tough, but my vote for MOST durable would be the Koopman clocks. They were also built like tanks, and had better movements than the Jergers.

I liked the MoM clocks a great deal. Made in Hungary, and now sold as vintage stuff at very high prices.
