The kg is busted by bobby fisher. He published an article on how to bust the kg.. that is why the kg is not play at high tournament lvl.. u can google fischer paper..

@guardianx9, thats bull crap. The KG was never and never will be busted. It is still played by many top GMs, Fischer lost to KG against Spassky and tried to bust it and failed. In fact Fischer has even played the KG.
Well the engine seem to agree with fisher papper. Really show me top lvl match in kg please lol... a random guy called fisher article bullshit.. nice

This is Spassky against Fischer. The game after which Fischer cried and proposed his so called bust.
Spassky, Gallegher, Johannsen, Short and a lot of other GMs who you or I havent heard of still use KG,
Seriously do you think there will still be books and articles done on an opening which loses by force? Lol.
BTW Engine gives 0.05 after Fischer defense. But the practical chances are much higher against humans. Have you played the KG as white? If not then please do not dis it with wrong assumptions. Still not convinced? Check the chess.com forums on KG. There has been a lot of threads where they prove to some miserable player how they are wrong that th KG is busted.

I'm just a 1700-level fish but I found John Shaw's book to be AMAZING. It's probably added at least 100 rating points to my KG play.
I do have one issue with it, though -- not sure the best place to talk about it, Openings is likely best. He ignores one line:
3 ... g4
4 h4 g5
5 Nd5 d3
6 Nxg5 Be7!
that flummoxes the crap out of me. Shaw says in his Chapter 3 that after Nxg5
"[Nf6] is the only move I am interested in. White has won back the gambit pawn; Black has doubled and isolated f-pawns. So far everything sounds peachy ..."
BUT after Be7, he's winning back a pawn and is destined to plant his frickin' bishop on g3 ... which is more than a wee bit irritating.
I should bring this to Openings, I guess -- but except for this one line, I found the book mega-complete, touching upon almost every conceivable variation, and it was well-written to boot. Seems like it was ChessPublishing's Book of the Year, if the cover is to be believed ...
