Lemme' switch gears: 3" Kings to complement my addiction

.......... now we talking base of the king size now from a photo ?
Perhaps someone out there has intimate/actual knowledge and experience with both sets.
By the way you can get the drop jaw from Frank for a better price. His sets are top knotch.
The link I provided is from Frank's website.
That's not Frank's site. He does not own HOS. He has his own site
Is his website Chess Antiques?

well here a link to the real set than some repo https://chessantiques.com/product/jaques-early-anderssen-drop-jaw-chessmen/

Yes. I'm on my phone right now or I would post it. I bought a 3.5 K drop jaw in ebony from him and he gave me a good deal.

I don't have any of the sets you mentioned but I like the Collectors since I have the 3.75" version from HoS in Padauk. Anyhow, you might also want to consider the SC Small Collectors Series. Here is a recent review: https://www.chess.com/forum/view/chess-equipment/review-of-staunton-castle-library-size-chess-set. I really like the SC one, but I am not too much into library size sets at this time. I have one and that's enough for me.

Mr Tjkoko you wait I make for you library size sets showcase after work yes? Then you can only conclude everyone must have one at least.
Some players mention having better board vision using a smaller set. Remember the tiny plastic sets some of you started out with as little kids? That was me. Fast forward fifty years or so. The first few times I played with a 3.75" set I failed to oversee the entire board and instead focused on one side or the other and left some pieces en prise. It took a little practice to oversee the entire board and it's no longer a problem with using a bigger set.

Yes you mentioned you already have a full size set so just like getting a second car (using analogy) you don't look for what your current car is already used for, you look for to complement your car. So in that view, what is it that you're looking for? Smaller set because sometimes you don't have the space in some environment? Or bigger set because your current set is too small? Or the same size in different color because you like the design that's also a valid reason
..........Smaller set because ... Or bigger set.......
Some men desire a harem with variety.

Lemme' switch gears and look at HOS' sets with 3" kings: The Collector Series Luxury Chess Pieces and also The Library Collection - The Anderssen Dropjaw Series. From the photos it appears that the latter has a slimmer "shaft" making the base appear larger and more splayed than it really is. Yet the latter's base measures 3.55cm and the former 3.81cm. On the basis of looks and the splayed basee alone, I prefer the Dropjaw. Now if I could only get it in blood rosewood.
