Lev Alburt's method books

I'm thinking of buying some of Lev Alburt's books I saw at a local used book store. Does anyone have any experience with these and how good they help? Thanks.

P.S. I'm a pretty weak player. I just know how the pieces move and am still trying to figure out how to learn to plan. Is planning the same as strategy?

Alburt's books are ok.

...and might be better than "OK" if you can get them at a used price.

I got them. I have the comprehensive chess course1&2, chess tactics, king in jeopady, chess strategy and just the facts books. Now I have to knuckle down and start using them. I saw a few others in the titled series but I think I have enough to give me a headache already. lol. Thanks for the advice
