I've noticed at least two products (Fritz and Chess Aquarium) support connecting to remote Chess engines to do analysis on more powerful hardware; I know that Chess Aquarium will connect to multiple computers during analysis to calculate faster.
Is there anything open source which does this? I have a couple of computers in my house that are mostly doing nothing all day, being able to spread the chess computer out would be very useful when tinkering with chess engines.
