New Player In Chess Piece Manufacture

Hi everyone,

Recently, having had my confidence in the abilities of the 'usual suspects' to deliver a quality luxury chess set with 'some' economy, in a timely fashion without defect of part, or dereliction of customer service, I was caused to cast about until, just as I was about to throw in with my fellows, to suffer the misery of their company (good luck to them in their struggles to win satisfaction), I finally came upon what I believe to be a relatively new player in the chess piece manufacturing world.

A quick search of the company name, address, and financial principles turned up nothing on any of the forums on this site, so I thought I would ask if anyone else has experience of them. The company is called, Globe Creations. globecreations.net  They are located in Amristar, India, with most of the other manufacturers who both retail-direct, and supply regional and international vendors of chess products with sets. As such, they are in a position to offer buyers the kind of economy that we have come to expect to be grown in hot economic climbs.

They do not as yet offer 'as' complete-a-range of sets as the more established players (apparently, there are several more designs available than currently show on their web sight), but they already have a good cross-section to chose from, and, what is more important, they already seem to offer that most illusive of all chess commodities in this, The Queen's Gambit, chess buyers dystopia, that being...quick and responsible hope-of-reply, follow-up, and customer service.

I messaged with one of the principles, Deepal Singh (he is partnered in this enterprise by his brother, Varinder Pal Singh), exploring some basic ordering and delivery questions and found him to be friendly and affable, but more importantly, he was business like, responsible, and knowledgable. He even gave me his phone number and a WhatsApp number to reach him more directly. I don't use FaceBook products, so that's a non-starter for me, but my experience of them is that you will receive a quick email turn around too.

Anyway, I'm an buoyed by hope for a new on-line retail experience, and am going to take a closer look at his stuff to see if I can find aesthetic support for it, because I'm tired of being held hostage to vendors who, thinking I have no alternative, do not apparently need (or want, as I've been told) the business of people who demand to be treated with retail sufficiency. It's always good for buyers when vendors are starting out and hungry! I'll let you know if I move forward.

I’m all for new blood, but I wonder about these guys just a little, see this screen shot of a board for sale on their site:

That board could be a collector's item. LOL

Brynmr

Their prices are little high as well as limited selection. On a different but related note, I still haven't heard back from Mandeep regarding old prices. I will be surprised if I do.

Pawnerai

As always, do your due diligence and research those prices before buying.

Here's just one example:

"1950s Soviet" set

$210 at GlobeCreations. $140 at RoyalChessMall.

Nice set, btw!!

Can somebody post a link to their website. Thanks.

Is there not too many chess makers already in Amristar ? cutting each others throats , price wise ! all selling the same kind of chess sets ,  with cracking bases , So many repro on repro .cry.pngwink.png

All good 'catches' guys! Hopefully they will find this thread and twig to these problems. It could be the case that they too have recently put their prices up to test the waters, which is why I was wondering if anyone has prior experience of them. Surely, vendors committed to their future would follow this sight to better place themselves in the market. The reverse chess board is a classic though. LOL!

I edited the initial post to make it stand out more too. Thanks!

No response is better than 'a' no response. Try again. Reach out on the chat, and say something inflammatory! That's how I got his attention and address of my posts.

Please don't let this device into a lengthy sidetrack. Let's keep it on topic, gentleman.

I just checked the site myself. Nothing to set them apart from the competition, apart from that board around the wrong way. If that's their best effort, I am not filled with enthusiasm.

There's nothing coming from Chinese Market, as I got some reviews that left-handers use the reverse order and will available soon the actual tournament designs.

Prices rather too high, product information scarce, not enough photos, limited selection, plus those weird Viagra comments in the "reviews". Why don't they clean those up? Not a serious contender at present, unfortunately. Too bad, since their page design is rather appealing.

as we working on it those comments coming randomly, that cleaned already btw.

No extra queens on the sets I looked at either.

The extra pair of queens are coming with the luxury sets, that's our weak point that is not mentioned in the description. Thanks for your recommendations.

That wrong sided made purposely as one of our clients demanded it.

^^^ Don't you think you should put a board on there that isn't around the wrong way? I don't think people will immediately realise it's a custom order. They will see it's wrong and go elsewhere. Think about it.

chessroboto

I imagine that the “wrongly printed” board was meant to be used for checkers instead of chess.

that's really helpful, thanks for your recommendation. We're working on it as well.
