Today I use my Square Off in a chess lesson. Funny to see how surprise people are about the pieces moving alone. I chose a beginner level (4) and let my students play against it. I often ask things like „did you think already what to do if black give a check on b4?“ or „do you see what black is threatening?“. Other players can also comment the position, propose moves or plans. A great thing to make people think over the game.

Amazing machine! Must be possible to make a clone with an Rasp PI and some stepper motors with the help of a 3d printer. I btw found this video:
