You can check House of Staunton if you are interested in genuine Jaques Staunton. Regency Chess also used to sell them. Jaques also sells them and the knights, queens and kings are less chunky than Official Staunton and the pawns are very accurate but price is higher. 

Do not become rude and watch your foul mouth. That is none of your business to see photos. Certificate is just a piece of paper made by the Indian producer of the set; Official Staunton is only the seller of this set not the producer. If you want to see 1849 sets visit ebay which is full of them and you can see all types of photos and roll in them all day and night. You need to move yourself and do some research rather than waiting desperately for others to help you. As I said I have the set as do hundreds of other people but because the bodies of the king, queen and bases of the rooks are chunky and the knights are too big I prefer the House of Staunton and Regency Chess versions. What I like and what I don’t like is none of your business.

Is this set made by Official Staunton? No, never! This set comes in ebony, ebonised, antiqued and normal boxwood. These sets have been selling for a few years now by Official Staunton and Staunton Castle so if you think a little bit you will understand that many people have bought them and own them. Not everyone buys from Official Staunton while others are selling them at lower prices. Certificate of authenticity is just a piece of paper printed by computer and it is not necessary as there are only two chess makers producing them in India.

If I like Nottingham chess set by House of Staunton or Sicilian Chess set by Regency Chess or the products of Chessbaron or if I simply wish to shop from ebay where I have better variety and price comparison, noone can ask me why or persuade me to do otherwise. Customers tastes and freedom of choise must be respected and no company is allowed to impose their will on the customer and use persuasive techniques to push the customers to buy their products. You can respect the fact the @goodnightmike started this to discuss his acquisition of an Official Staunton 1849 reproduction set and not go off on some lunatic rants about what you want to talk about. 

You talk about owning all of these sets but offer no proof when asked. All of us freely share pics of our sets t encourage people to buy or to give some joy to others.

Or, we post to show things are not what they should be and post pictures to prove it. 

You just want to come on here and knock things down and cause dissension, offering no proof that you actually own or have problems with anything you talk about.
