Hello, I hope to find some help in here.
If I were to repaint the finials on wooden (boxwood chess pieces) which color should I use? Any experience you can recall?

Depends on style of pieces. Contrasting finials are common with Soviet, style pieces.

Yeah, soviet style most likely , any finish you know of that doesn’t chip off?

Decide on a color. Then find someone that restores furniture or musical instruments. Ask them to advise you.
