Pawn Appetit

Hello! Has anyone tried Pawn Appétit? I’ve heard it’s somewhat similar to ChessBase and SCID. I’m planning to download it and test it out, but I’d love to hear what others think of the software first.

I am interested too.

Its a fork of a similar chess database software called En Croissant. Currently I think its in alpha, but works perfectly fine for intermediate to advanced users.

Is there any real difference between the two?

During installation of Pawn Appetit I recevied a message the Pawn Appetit was trying to access a restricted folder. I believe it was document folder. Is Pawn Appetit a safe program to install?

You're seeing that message because the app isn't code-signed (signing certificates are costly). Pawn Appetit is safe and fully open-source - you can review the code yourself or ask others to verify it.
