I like the HOS Zurich plastic set in either ivory or natural for blitz games . Good weight, price and nice Staunton design. By the way ESP-918 I OWN, OWN, OWN, not "owe" both of these sets in black and ivory and natural and black FYI.
Post a picture of your favorite chess set, for playing blitz

Bought this set at Sunrise. It's a simple, sturdy set that does the job.

I do also like a lot the set Rondo uses.

Very nice sets everyone, keep it coming! Maybe a little bit information where you using it and how often
I haven't seen a better, more luxurious chess set yet , which people will carry it with them and play with anyone, even randoms not worrying about it being damaged.

I own that one (Staunton N6). It's very nice set, but it's low weighted for Blitz in my opinion.
I like triple weighted sets a specially for Blitz.
If talking about the best set for Blitz it's Staunton N6 board which you pointed and some Russian wooden chess pieces from 70th. It was fantastic ebonized natural/black pieces produced by some Russian prison(s). The price was around 5-10$ per set with excellent quality. It was best chess pieces I ever played and even I ever seen, a specially for that price. It was something average between British and French pieces with "steek" instead "crest" on top of the King and a small ball with opposite color on top of the Queens and the Bishops.
Russian chessboards were to small (with squares around 1.75") for 3.75-4.00" size of the King but pieces itself were excellent and very well balanced a specially for Blitz. Unfortunately at present it's very hard to find that set even in Russia for any price.

Well in my opinion pieces are exactly perfect for playing blitz, they should be light , even standard with no weights normally perfect for playing blitz , but they are lightly weighted, which is perfect for playing blitz games. Pieces that are heavy triple weighted for example are to heavy for a long period of playing time , your arm gets tired and also if they full down with so much weight on a concrete or other hard surface, most likely they will chip or weights will pop out.
Oh yeah and Russian pieces or Soviet if you wish, just horrible. First of all its easy to find it anywhere for one simple reason as no one wants them.
They are low quality build, their bases is not just large but enormous, I know it's good for playing blitz but it must be some kind of proportions.ALSO knights are horribly made out of two pieces which is no no no in blitz unless it's well made which is not. Overall ugly chess pieces, oh yes and pieces tops are horrible those "ball" on top of it it's so easy breakable especially in blitz, high quality and durable pieces must be made out of one piece only especially bishops or knight.

I think you are talking about Modern chess sets which are selling in Russia now.
And I completely agree they have very bad design and quality.
I'm talking about sets were produced in 70th (and stopped produced in earliest 90th). If you point me where those sets are selling in new condition now (internet or store in any Russian city) I'll so appreciate you.
A problem with broken pieces in Russian tournament at that time relates more to small size of chess boards (with squares size 1.75" or less) than to pieces itself. It was very hard to place piece on square without touching pieces in the nearest squares.
Also a problem of broken pieces is more important for expensive sets. Will you really worry about it if new set will be available for five bucks only? It's less than a single drink.
If somebody worries about it they can use plastic set which hard to broke.
Weight preferences are individual and it's hard to discuss as a taste of food.

Those ones are so far from what I talked about.
If I'll find it I'll post photos.
There are very close pieces I've mentioned could be found in posts #35, #64 and #100 in a topic "Chess sets used in both ...".
Mine is :
1. Wood which is better in my opinion and more luxurious then plastic.
2. Pieces are weighted, not to lightly or to heavily which is very important especially in blitz play. Also they are very durable and knight been made out of one piece only, which again perfect for blitz play.
3.Board is a proper tournament size and it's proper size, which can be useful to play serious games and no one can complain about it or make excuses about it,as it's official tournament size.
4. It's portable, i can take it anywhere(parks, coffee shops, etc.)and it looks very luxurious when it's in a full size.
Those are the reasons why I love my chess set and I will play any serious games on it even for $.
I can't post a picture here, so here is a link, with exactly the same chess set as mine which I owe.
