Just got this smaller board for bringing to bars and stuff. Insane deal on Chess Bazaar for the pieces (Collector Series, 2.6" king), board (one of the roll up wooden ones), and a faux leather bag for the pieces (which is honestly far too big for these pieces, but whatever, I have plenty of other little bags that work great) — all for $140 ($120 after applying the credits I had from my previous purchase). Super happy with these little guys. The quality and detail is very, very rare for pieces this small.

As a side note, the king base/square diameter ratios that are most commonly recommended make me feel like I'm taking crazy pills. The pieces on most of the sets I see posted on here look almost comically small compared to the board. Both this set and the set I posted on the previous page have king base/square diameter ratio of 80%. I can't imagine going any lower than that. The commonly recommended 75% looks ridiculous to me. Of course it's all personal preference, but I can't help but feel like a lot of people's preferences are INSANE lol. Just had to say that because it's always on my mind when I look at people's sets. But if you're happy with it, then I'm happy for you. Enjoy your tiny pieces
@yenster1 - WOW that is a pretty board on Etsy. I could buy it at slightly oversized then mill out the underside inner so that is sits tolerance fit over the outside ledge of the current board (then use those BluTack glue gummies to hold it in place) . Just got to make sure there isn't too much over shadow of the dragons. Am starting moving a friend into my shop this weekend (1st Trailer load) - he has a FULL woodshop he is setting up...maybe make my own board (3 garages of equipment we are consolidating and setting up - trying to fit it all into 800 square feet.). I DID get that History Channel Lifetime member board and put the WW2 set on it...
