Yeah, that is pretty cute!
Post Your Chess Sets

Thanks.
The "board" is from Etsy:
https://www.etsy.com/de/listing/937493839/schach-schachspiel-historische?ref=yr_purchases
But the initial chessman were too big and I replaced them with smaller pieces. Actually those are still a bit to big for the fields. But it is playable.

This is my smallest set. "Chess to go".
The leather patch has a diameter of 25 cm (9.8 inches).
A field has 2 cm (0,78 inches).
Yes

Btw. ... you can talk to the guy on Etsy. He can do any size on Leather.
You can even choose between 4 colors.

The Chess pieces, which came with the red leather patch, you can see in THIS picture
(the base of the king is 2 cm).
So I asked the guy from the shop, if he can make me a bigger "board" for this remain pieces.
The field size here is 2,5 cm (roughly 1 inch).
But the cardboard-can was bought extra.

The leather lays actually very flat.
You can see a wrinkle in the picture above,
but when you smooth it down, it is flat.
I bought a super cute and very small peg type set in Greenwich Village,NYC back in the eighties.
The beautiful wooden box would fold open to display these very small pieces, made of ebony and ivory. The woods used were really exquisite, but it was just too small to play any meaningful game on it,so I gifted it to my son in law,who liked the look.
As someone who likes to collect stuff,it's sometimes easy to go for something on a whim....That was just me,on that occasion....Well,maybe more often than I'd like to admit.

I found it on pinterest and it is actually a brooch from Etsy.
It looks like a dolls head.
"She" is called "Lucy blue" ... Hand sculpted with fimo and painted with enamel paint. With a sturdy metal brooch back securely attached with epoxy resin glue and metal screws.
(I guess you didn't expect this detailed info ... I copied it from Etsy)
No, I don't own this, I only found the picture online.
I hope this is allowed to post it. I can at least ask the shop owner, if he (or she) don't mind).
I don't want bother people here with my actual face :-) ... is that legit?

I like that little leather set quite a bit! This is my only travel set. It's a full size tournament board, but sure it's very common. Nothing special!

That's very neat!
