all are good books, except silmans, throw those in the trash, and i'll give you a good tip to improve faster and better, if you look at ur books list, some are endgame, some are openings, some tactics, etc. this is a common mistake don't do it if i were you. Focus on one at a time, like for example, see where is your weakest part of the game, im sure u have many (no offense) and focus on that for some time, divide and conquer, don't try to hit left and right.

Am surprised at the comment on Silman, heard a lot of praise for him, while I think the way he criticises other writers is unprofessional.
So with regards to my book list, would you change the sequence? For example, at the moment I am doing Seirawan's tactics book, once I complete it, should I move to Seirawan's strategy book so it's also middle game? Is that what you mean?

In regard to Silman, here in this site he has many worshipers but most of them are just naive to know or understand any better.
And about your reading list, ill write to ur inbox and tell you what in my opinion u should exactly do, u can try that, if it works great, if it doesn't u can throw it away and do ur own thing.
Hello There,
I am an average player trying to improve. My opponents tell me that I have a strong opening, a so and so middle game and a terrible endgame. I have the following reading list planned but wanted to get some feedback and ideas on the titles and also the sequence:
1. Seirawan - Play Winning Chess - Completed
2. Chernev - Move by Move - Completed
3. Seirawan - Winning Tactics - Nearly completed
4. Seirawan - Winning Endings - Just started this
Now from here I have the most doubt on how to proceed and was thinking:
5. Seirawan - Winnining chess strategies (for middle game improvement)
6. Seirawan - Winning chess openings
7. Silman - Complete endgame course (to really stop the endgame handicap I have)
8. Silman - The amateur's mind
9 Silman - How to reassess your chess
I am open to suggestions, feel free to comment
Thanks
Dennis
