Oops, wrong thread.

Just a quickie about the infringement thing.....C.F. Martin,Est 1833, has been ripped off like a zillion times, since they were the ones who invented the acoustic steel string guitar.

It didn't stop companies like Gibson,Taylor,Guild,Fender(acoustic) and a host of other companies selling to the world.....Btw,the Japanese companies of the 1970's and 1980's made a fortune with knock offs.....Some were pretty good.

I didn't see too many musicians or fans of acoustic guitars getting hot under the collar. In fact many big names played them and a huge number of ordinary folks saved some money.

Some things just never change in the free enterprise world of business.

Btw,because they make a fantastic product,C.F. Martin Guitars thrives today.

Yeah I notice that too, chess passionados can be getting hot under the finials. Johnny Depp picks up his guitar again recently, doing some tours with Jeff Beck and get bras and strings thrown at him on the stage. I think I'm gonna collect cheap knock off guitars from now on, much safer than getting club sized Jaques thrown at my finial.

Actually saw him do that "twice".... live!

He played at the Singer Bowl....Now The U.S. Tennis Center in Flushing N.Y. accompanied by Janis Joplin and followed by The Chambers Brothers. Lead off group was The Soft Machine.

That's how old I am.wink
