Chess hero is one of the best chess software (I use it with chessbase's big database and stockfish), but not what monomero is asking for I guess.

Chesss Hero can do exactly what he is talking about. I practice openings all the time in Chess Hero. You can load a single game or position in place of a DB. Then just set it for position 1 to 20 or whatever you wish, Set the side to move(side you want to study/memorize) ,Pick mode sequential, Click "is book" or "Game move is best" and your good to go. I like clicking Max attempts 3 so after three mistakes it will make the right move... But that's just me.... I love Chess Hero for learning openings, play it over and over until it's second nature.... I'm sure tactics or whatever the OP is wanting to go over would work just as well...

@DunnoItAll:I have to guess a equence of moves, not just one.

ChessHero stops every move and you must click 'play', quite annoying, but honestly it works.

Instead, used along with a database of my own games is useful and fun.
