Several vendors offer sets in the Soviet and other Eastern traditions.
Chess Bazaar offers a set which is inspired by the sets which were common in the Soviet Union. It's here:

The bases could be wider and the King's finnial is strangely shaped, but the broad strokes are there. I believe this design is a work-in-progress from CB and there may be future revisions.
In addition to this there is quite an active market for vintage chess sets on ebay and etsy. You'll find a great variety there. However, the majority of those sets will not be weighted.

I don't know why some of the better companies don't offer the Soviet Era Grandmaster style sets (only made better). These are the ones with the opposite color spires on the King Queen and Bishop pieces. I KNOW they would be a big hit. Just my .02
