The box is a slide top box in a nice worn reddish brown colour but no stamp or label.
Lardy?
I did wonder if it could be Lardy. I read somewhere that some Lardy pieces are prone to warping and I have noticed the white queen is leaning slightly to one side.
Proto-Lardy maybe: http://www.chess-museum.com/lardy.html
My Knights look very similar to the set on the link.

These don't seem to match exactly, but maybe it'll give you a something.

Thanks for the link...the Knights look a very good match.
I wonder if anyone can help me identify a possible manufacturer or origin of this chess set. The king measures 3 1/4" (82mm) and the set is weighted.
I'm new to chess set collecting but I think I've already been bitten by the bug so any information and/or advice would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
