And I had taken a bunch of other pics, but they came out sideways when I posted them. If you want to see any other angles, or other pics, just let me know, I'd be happy to post them.

Phenomenal! Those pieces are so beautiful I had to use a 10-letter word AND spellcheck! The color and grain on that Rosewood looks perfect.
TCE should ease off "dime a dozen" reproductions and specialize in Chavet reproductions. No one does it better. Not even Chavet! TCE does quality work there's no question there. Focus on consistent quality control and make after-purchase customer service a priority as a company directive.
@Krames Can you give us some info on the board? Maker, woods, square size?
The board is custom, made by a gentleman who I was introduced to by a member here, he does AMAZING work. The squares are 2.25 inches, ash and walnut and the frame is wenge. If you’re interested in getting in touch with him send me a message and we can chat . . .
The wood and carving appears to be exceptional in your (great!) photos. Thanks so much for sharing...doubts in TCE have been creeping in lately but this really gives me more confidence for a future TCE purchase. Well done and enjoy the pieces!
@Krames. That is one beautiful set. Enough to make me kick myself for promising my wife that I am done with purchases for the year (which, fortunately, is for only 2 more months 😀). Congratulations. I can see why you are so enthusiastic about the set.
@lotsoblots. FWIW, I have purchased two sets from Rishi at TCE. In each case, I would rate the communications with Rishi as excellent. The sets themselves were, to my eye and without measuring the individual pieces, "flawless" (I realize nothing is perfect but I love the workmanship and have zero complaints).
Congrats! It looks very nice. The wood grain of the pieces is amazing.
Btw, what woods did you use for your board? I really like the border. Is it stained or natural?
Nice! Another member actually showed me a photo of it after I mentioned I was looking to have a Jaques board made. He was going to refer me to the maker who made yours. He didn't say it was your board though. He just told me the board belonged to his friend.
This post is about complete, 100% satisfaction!!!!!
The Chess Empire has done an INCREDBIBLE job with their Chavet offering.
The set I ordered is absolutely perfect considering anything and everything I would have hoped for. The pieces were delivered in a beautiful box, and wrapped with care. The pieces themselves are so well done!!! I love the shapes! The grain in the rosewood is fabulous, I am just thrilled with everything about my purchase. The customer service from the start was outstanding. Rishi sent emails about the new wood offerings, kept me updated on timing and was happy to answer any and all of my questions. Here are a bunch of pics, I'm nowhere near the photographer of some on this site, but I hope they show at least some of beauty created by The Chess Empire and their Chavet offering .....
