You will always be able to get a book on chess with openings, middle and end games that you have to play to learn them properly.
This book THE EIGHT is the best book to keep you entertained from the beginning to the end and you feel that you are in it.
It is about a search for a chess service that has mystical power. It has many of the old chess master in the novel.

That is the first book. It was written twenty five years ago. She has a newer book that also follow this one. . . FIRE . . . Paperbacks sell at a very low price and they are also at the local library's. IMHO

I also tried the "FIRE" her next book but it was a disappointing read. . . .

Do you guys have other suggestions on good books to read?

As I find chess entertaining I could name most chess books. However some makes for more entertaining reading than others and one I often pick up to while an hour or so away is Irving Chernev´s The Golden Dozen. History rather than fiction, but highly entertaining. A cup of tea and some soft music playing in the background, life could be a lot worse...
