The Mikhail Tal Soviet Tournament Chess Set by EraRetro on Etsy

Recently I received the Mikhail Tal Soviet Tournament Set. I was blown away by this magnificent reproduction and its stunning beauty. I purchased this set on Etsy from the EraRetro Shop ran by Kate. The set was made by Kate and her husband. Its their version of the popular set used in many Soviet tournaments including Championships. This style set emanates from the late 1940's.  Kings measure 4 3/4" in height with a 1 3/4" diameter base. Pawns are 2 1/8" in height. The set is nicely weighted. The pieces are nicely turned with impressive hand carved Knights. The chunky wide base pieces are a collector's delight. The antiquing of the white pieces is superb and gives one the impression that its a vintage Soviet set. I have posted many pics of this gorgeous set for your perusal. Here is a link to the set: https://www.etsy.com/listing/601525257/reserved-reproduction-of-the-michael-tal?show_sold_out_detail=1  .  Kate is taking orders on this set. If interested in buying, I wouldn't wait too long as the order list is starting to grow.
