I am deeply indebted to my friend and compadre, that preeminent collector of playing sets and historic clocks, Chess Praxis, for his Herculean efforts in sourcing for me a set of the 1992 Manila Olympiad, the personal set of IM Rico Mascarinas. Special thanks to Mike Ladzinski for graciously granting me first dibs at it. The Manila Olympiad is notable as the first Olympiad following the break-up of the Soviet Union and its unstoppable chess team. Here the Manila pieces are staged with an Official Staunton Bobby Fischer Board and a Garde Ruhla clock. The kings are approximately 3.7" tall and the set is lightly weighted.

Its a nice set but, I don't care for the Knights & Rooks myself. Thanks for the pics though!!!!
