Oh oh oh, one more thing. I had The Queen’s Gambit playing on Netflix while I worked on this. I finished at the point where she was in Benny’s basement doing chess-related things.

Very nice. Can you share the post with the overlay? Also, how did you get to recess the foils into the velour base? Was there a space left by the weights of each piece?

That looks great. I sure would like to see the A4 overlay you use.

I am the original poster of making a new board overlay. Originally it was just to get rid of the led circles that where visible on the original Centaur boards even when the led's weren't lit. You can read and look at the photos and video if you are interested on Page 45. DTG Centaur Invisible Rings.

BTW..great work done by the guys who have modified there boards 👍

Indeed, yours was one of the posts I saw before deciding to buy a Centaur in spite of the out-of-the-box look and feel. Thank you.

Hi, I have a pawn that fails to be detected.  Can those round stickers be useful to fix it? Are there spare chess pieces from DGT that I can buy?

For the Centaur, just stick a foil sticker or a metallic disk under the piece to solve the piece detection issue. Remove the felt before applying the fix if you need it to be pretty.
