There is an older sort of miniature chess set that looks like a Demo Board (for the wall) in which there are little pockets for the chess pieces. I've forgotten what they're called. If anyone can remember the name (Mxxxxxx ?) , then I'd appreciate it.
The set is small, pocket book size, and it opens to reveal the board. There are little slots for the paper pieces to slide into (similar to the much larger Wall Demo Board) and spare slots for pieces that are captured.
The set is pretty delicate, easy to lose a paper chess piece, can suffer water damage, etc.. I had a friend who was a chess composer who had one.
