#1 is a design from the Victoria and Albert Museum. It may never have been made as a set.

#2 Is one of the actual Leuchars over stamped Jaques set knights much copied never equalled

#3 Set owned by Ruy Lopez 1584

#4 German set with cannons and bombards for rooks

#5 Michael Edel set designs

#6 Simpsons in the Strand Knight modelled by a young lady.

#7 German set 18th century Rooks as cannons on stands.

#8 Staunton set by Bill or Bertram Jones 20th century. Retailed by Alex Hammond and Macy's 

#9 Bone set similar to one said to have been owned by George Washington.

The carp was a very popular icon in France in the 18thc and after.

 The very earliest Jaques ivory sets had curved stamps to the underside of the kings base. 

one assumes that the Wood sets were made first and the curved stamp used on the foot rim of the wood set kings was all Jaques had at that time

Travel set above WW2 vintage escape set by Jaques of London. Sent to troops in POW camps in Germany. If anyone has one of these I would be very interested to see it.

Set in the 19th-century Indian manner Called after Samuel Pepys as his descendants gave a similar set to the British Museum along with his (17th-century) backgammon board and pieces.
