If you are looking for an electronic chess computer I can GUARANTEE you that this is the neatest thing since "sliced bread"!! I've had one for two years and even people who aren't into chess love to play against the computer just to watch it go by itself, lol.

Yes I purchased one of these on ebay a few weeks ago.  Got held up in US postal services but it's arriving tomorrow.  Should be good.

Really would like the grandmaster model though as I love the idea of having a full sized auto sensory board.

I've tried all those but they are hard to get hold of.

I was a bit disappointed at first.  It wouldn't work even though it was supposed to be new.

I ended up having to open it up and found one of the springs attaching the toothed belt had stretched.

After some recutting of the spring and some fiddling about I managed to reattach it.

It does work now but it has problems when trying to castle blacks pieces.

Still waiting for a good Excalibur Grandmaster to become available though.

Sorry to hear about that. Mine was new off Amazon and it works fine. Maybe the modified spring just needs to get some use in before it starts to work properly.  Also if you were able to do all that you probably would be able to put in a new spring from the hardware store if you can find one the same size as the original. In theory that should have it working the way it should have from the start. Good luck with it, hope you get it to work properly!

I have one! I'm actually looking for a novag ruby or similar. I really want to use a variety of boards when I play, so I really just want something that gives me coordinates and I can type them back. Hard to find this day in age. I just want to use my other chess boards. My grandmaster is a bit big for me to just sit on my lap and play. It is a great computer though! I'd be up for a trade! I will disclose there is a slight blemish on a couple of the squares (doesn't affect the sensor though)

I have a Mach 3 Master like new with brown & buff playing board. Only used it about 10-15 times & put it up in my closet. Why? It beats me everytime is why. I think its rated close to expert level in strength. PM me if anyone is interested.

the problem i find with my excalibur qrand master is if you play a game and write it down and play another game on the same level making the same moves it will play the whole game exactly the same every time . no randomness at al like my novags and scysis mephistos have .
