Any teachers teach by playing a game with students?

Just curious if there are any teachers who teach chess by playing games with students and analyzing their moves and mistakes, etc. Years ago, when I was learning chess in school this is how I was taught. Several teachers who are Masters and Grand Masters will not teach this way. They will not play a game with me. Why is this? I'm considering lessons and trying to understand what styles and methods various teachers may teach.

Hey! I can do that. I'll give you instant feedback on where your thinking is wrong and how to fix it.

The difference between you and a GM is just too big. While it might be appealing it is not clear where the benefit is.

Your opponents think very differently from tge players that teach you.

According to my opinion, coaches who play with students usually tend to be lazy and without a clear plan.

Far more important are analysis of one's own games against peers (with a similar rating).

I certainly do this, I believe playing is the best practice as it simulates what you'll do in a tournament better than anything else. I also specialize in game review, so after I play a game with a student I review it as well. It's totally an underrated way of teaching, I think a lot of titled players don't like to do it because it's harder for them (an active activity) as opposed to just showing games or tactical puzzles (more passive of an activity). I used to teach a lot more years ago but am trying to get back into it. I'm rated over 2300 uscf and have studied with many grandmaster coaches over the years. Let me know!

At that level, analyzing own games is irrelevant. You won't understand anything. In fact, until now I do not analyze my own games I do other things instead.

My friend NM Julian Proleiko does this, and explains his thought process as he goes.

I love how every coach comes to these pages to try and get students
