You're from US, right?

This expression "Money makes the world go around" betrays you.

How people view me, doesn’t bother me.

Cmon! Don't lie to yourself. Of course you care!

OP is getting paid and pursuing his passion.

It's a big question.

I am Cambodian.

The world sucks right now, inflation, cost of living and rising prices on everything doesn’t affect you?

How do I make money if it’s free?

I don’t need the money. Many people helped me along the way so I am paying it forward.

I have my reasons and testimonials, that’s good enough for me.

Those noobs think that they can tell lower-rated player their bad chess understanding, call it "coaching" and get paid for that. LOL

In my eyes it's scam.

I'd say that around 2000 blitz on chess.com is very minimum to coach even very beginners. Below that level you don't understand chess basics well enough.

Also coaching is a job! You should know HOW to teach! What a typical problems students have and how to treat them. It called pedagogy.

Also you need prepared materials to explain your students certain topics.

For example:

- how to use an open file

- how to play with/without space advantage

- how to play for/against IQP

- how to play against bad pieces

and many others.

Many titled coaches scam as well.

I have witnessed it.

Even at one point, I almost got scam myself.

The poor reviews get deleted or lost in the shuffle, if it’s true, the reviews are kept.

Some people are exceptionally driven.

What I have learned and witnessed is some people lack the tools, techniques, training routine and planning abilities to get ahead.

I got that from my last coach who went onto get his NM.

Chess is a skill set?

It’s not always about chess knowledge, but you can add more knowledge after having the right foundation.

Anyways, my target audience are 1200-1500, not beginners but I have made exceptions in the past.

Then it's very weird that you're focused on money so much!

A year ago or a bit more I asked one GM to give me a few lessons. We had a conversation, an introduction around 1,5 or 2 hours long. I'd call it a decent lesson. Then he gave me another lesson around 2 hours long. A very good one. Then we solved puzzles together from time to time, he played a few rapid games with one fellow and explained his thought process. I offered him some money which hi declined. His responce was: "Do you think I don't have money?"

So, if you think that money rule the world then you're wrong. People rule the world!

Not everybody is as blessed.

Chess gets expensive very fast!
