Study Plan
If you're under 1800 all you need to do is study tactics, tactics and tactics.
Best way to study tactics? Puzzles?

I have been trying to delineate a study plan for myself, a 1300 rating player.
Studying grand master games is not a good way to improve at 1300 rating, because at this level most games are won by the player who makes less blunders or critical mistakes. This player does not need to find the best moves always, as GM often does, but to eliminate the bad ones with the time pressure. In other words, to get better faster at amateur level a player should study more basic tactical themes and simple endgames theory to eliminate recurrent mistakes. Also, as tactical themes are not always available, he shoud learn a little bit concepts about weak squares, weak pawns, outposts, basic improve of pieces position, trading pieces, opening or closing the position. Puzzleses about improving positions should be available, and not necessary with only one correct answer.
Give me your thoughts about it
Cheers.
