How do you use Chessmaster 10 coach?

The Chessmaster forum is dead, so I'm posting here. And I've been playing for three weeks. I'm trying to figure out the best way to use either the Chessmaster coach or any other coach available online.

I like to castle kingside early on. My general setup is e5, Nf3, e4, Bd3, then castle... After that, I notice my opponent likes to move a bishop or knight king-side, then a queen to queen-side. The setup is to let the king-side piece develop to go in for a discovered attack by the queen, in a type of smothered mate. I successfully blocked this in my last game and beat a an A.I. with a rating of 1072 for the first time. But I wasn't able to repeat the results and both the 1066 A.I. and the 1072 A.I. are consistently getting me with this technique.

I don't just want the answer, I want a course or something to help me understand how to use my opponents setup to my advantage. They are moving 3-4 pieces multiple times to work this angle. It seems like an obvious wasn't of moves with only 3-4 pieces developed.  How do I use the coach effectively?
