The chances that you're losing live games in the openings are slim to none.

At the under 1300 rating group studying openings is not a very good idea (Most of the time) I think you should start leaning how to use the pieces and basic endgames and basic tactics. When your rating starts getting closer to 1400 then warry a little about openings, but untill then...Tactics, Piece play and endgames will help you.

All of the above advice is good, if you can think on your feet then you don't need to worry about opening strategy - that's for when you hit 1800+(?).

What you do need to concentrate on is your tactical ability. For example in your last game against nicoman51, at move 14 you should have played.... 14.Bxb6  if he recaptures with 14...cxb6?, then 15.Nc7+ & you have his rook !

If you can train yourself to see things like that, your game & rating will improve. Tactics Trainer is there to help you with things like that - I still use it a lot.

Having looked at a couple of your games though, a few things strike me - you bring your queen out very early which generally isn't a good idea. In your game against Rama_2590, your queen is chased around by his knight with the result that he's developing his position while you've achieved very little !

Also, try not to make too many moves with your pawns before bringing your knights & bishops out - that's how higher rated players build their positions.
