Is there anyone out there that will be willing to mentor / tutor me free of charge; out of the kindess of their heart and pure love of the game?
Quality never comes cheap/free.
One suggestion => Consider visiting your local chess clubs (if your city/town has them) and try to sneak in free lessons (w/accompanying beat-downs) from stronger players who are willing to go over games with you post-mortem.
I started out there ... with the regular Class A/Expert/Master players mopping the floor with me and telling me "this move here is why you suck" (of course they were more polite about it)
I kept going. I started to suck less.
The difference between sitting in front of a computer and trying to "learn" better chess vs. "investing" your time / energy by going to a place and getting your a## kicked in slow + serious games each week is pretty clear: the former is a futile armchair general effort that will lead you to a plateau of complacency; the latter has you showing some skin in the game (doesn't have to be dollars, just sweat equity) by showing up, making a committment in a social arena where people will come to know and expect you each week. Plus regularly playing strong players and trying to give it your best to scalp them (and figuring out why you failed) is a beautiful improvement feedback loop.
Hello all,
I know this is a difficult thing to ask for, and it seems farfetched, but I am looking to improve my game (always am) and I really want to have someone tutor me or be my mentor. I work better when I get direct feedback, not just going through endless games or tutuorials.

I would be awfully devoted to spending time each week for this.
