feels like they keep trying to force their agenda down our throats

Imagine someone telling you that 2000 years everything was fine and now people are identifying themselves as animals...

yep, this censorship has been happening more and more recently

This site is beclowning itself. It did not have to publish that news article, much less in such an uneven manner as it did. It seems as if the site cannot face viewpoints with which it does not agree. I don't understand why it couldn't stay neutral and just support chess.

This proposal is ridiculous. It basically says that women can't be as good as men at chess. Men do occupy all the highest spots on the grading table, but that's to be expected statistically because of the much higher number of male players.

This proposal deepens the bad social environment that trans women already have to endure.

There are small differences, but not sufficient to explain the difference in Elo. For that, you need statistical analysis and the result is overwhelming: roughly 8X as many men playing chess gives the Elo difference.

The #1 woman in the world with an active classic rating right now is ranked #347 overall. Please offer some proof that the 346 male players ahead of her are statistically anomalous. Are there 346 times as many male chess players compared to female chess players?

That's not how the stats work. Consider a 100-sized pool consisting of 90*A, and 10*B. Allocate a random number to each member from 1 to 100. What is the probability that the top 3 are all A?

Now multiply this result into a vastly larger sized pool.

Misogyny is one of the most often cited reasons for why girls and women give up chess. They don't feel comfortable or welcome in the tournament hall or chess club.

And the evidence is right here in this thread....

Avatar of CatholicChessDad

Where do you get any evidence of misogyny in this thread?

1. Transwomen are legally women, so to disparage them in any way is to disparage women, therefore misogyny.

2. Claiming men have a better work ethic than women is a fairly typical misogynist trope for brushing over other factors why men may have achieved more

I dont like your opinion like straight up.
It just feels wrong for me. I am just respectfully not gonna agree.

trans women are not real women. only pretending, mentally ill wannabes

what i say may not be nice and could hurt the feelings you believe should be valued over everthing. but what i say has been shown to be true.

Avatar of lonniespiel

Lol, I'm not saying that? It's only a generalisation?

It's simple sexist bigotry, unadulterated. If you can't see that then you're enabling it.

I'm in Australia, but feel free to check out this statement by the German Chess Federation. It's pretty clear, whether you morally agree with trans rights or not
