I wanna play Gotham chess vs the world 🌎 😩

This will go the same way as every other chess game "The World" plays. Whatever move gets the most upvotes the fastest, even if the move is terrible, will be played. Levy is going to win.

This is the first time I am playing a "The World" game and I saw that concern previously. But I can't even see the moves others voted for before voting myself so it seems the issue you raised has been addressed. That said, shouldn't there be a discussion forum for the game? Otherwise the moves will just be average and we'll lose. Edit: found the discussion forum, it is nicely hidden below the chess board so you need to scroll down.

Vote chess with Gotham has been a very disappointing experience. This is not an opportunity to learn, except not to play this type of format ever again. Vote chess is just that, a bunch of players just vote what they think should be played, regardless of any discussion. Not even sure they even know a discussion is occurring. If the  vast majority of players have Elo ratings between 900 and 1200, the quality of the chess moves will be between The vast majority of players have Elo ratings between 900 and 1200. So Gotham is playing a world of chess players where the moves will be driven by the majority of players (900-1200) . The discussion on the Discord forum focuses more on how to get the the majority of voters (players) to get involved with the discussion. But apparently this does not happen, says the forum. It is typical.

This is unfortunate. I learned quite a bit when I played club versus club chess. Our club would discuss the position. Experts and masters would explain to lower rating players what was going on and why certain moves were better than others. Everyone was encouraged to ask questions. But the moved made was always a quality move. It was not just a bunch of people voting. It was an opportunity to discuss and more importantly learn. It was an opportunity to be part of a high quality game, with quality moves. My experience with Gotham versus the world. It was not fun it was frustrating and though there was discussion on discord. The discussion was centered more on selecting moves that could get the most votes or the problem with "lower rated" players.

I suggest chess.com shut down this type of Vote Chess, since it is against some of chess.com's goals; have fun, socialize, discuss and learn about chess. Some should congratulate Gotham chess for beating the world, whose average move is at the 900-1200 level!

Well, having it on Discord is a sure way to not reach the majority.

Whoever thought it's a good idea?
