It does look like a nice opening. I typically use the king's indian opening with d4.
1. d4 love it, or hate it?

Nice game, although he made a huge mistake at 19... Qc7 (not that I haven't made similar mistakes myself!)
Re: your main question, I avoid 1. d4 completely - I almost always open with 1.Nf3 these days, though I might play 2. d4 after 1... d5 or even 1...e5 sometimes. I'll probably come back to 1.d4 at some point, but for now I enjoy working out the intricacies of 1.Nf3

the e5 push is weak ,18.Bc4 is bad better is Bd7 or Qd7 or BxN,because of the Bishop align in b2-g7 is very strong black must know that ,and the worse is Qc7?? he left the knight, if am wrong thats my vesion and thanks a lot of the game u've show nice game thank you very much

I only play 1. d4, I find that it suits my style of play better. It's nice to work out a repertoire for both of black's two main moves, 1... d5 and 1... Nf6. And as I found out at the Chicago Open this year, beware of the Budapest Gamit (1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e5).

1. d4 is the best (for me). i like the middlegames it can lead to. 2. c4 is my usual follow up (queen's gambit). my response as black is usually the slav (1. d4 d5 2. c4 c6).

I hate playing against d4 and NEVER open with it
then u'll hate playing me if u ever do :p
Nice game.
As White I don't usually play 1. d4, I like e4 & the English. As Black I play varied... one of my goals is to become better at one or two responses.

I almost always open with d4. I prefer closed positions and like the positional play that results. Against d4 I often play the Slav, but I've recently become a fan of the Dutch as well

I love d4. I (almost) never play 1: e4. Against e4 I don't play e5 or c5, so the Sicilian and e4-e5 positions almost never occur in my games.
The one exception is a transposition to the Maroczy Bind in the Sicilian Dragon via the following move order.
d4 Nf6 c4 c5 Nf3 g6 Nc3 Bg7 e4 cxd4 Nxd4 etc.
Nice game! I was looking forward to you winning his queen after he "moves" his king at the end there.
I am strictly an e4 player,it just seems to suit me better. Against d4 i usually play the KID but years ago i played the Dutch alot and i am starting to play it again.

I love d4. The cool thing is that e4 is a bird that flies by itself, but the English, d4, and the KIA flow nicely together. It is also very flexible and it is easy to change your repertoire without memorizing tons of forcing moves. I find that d4 gives many diverse games and avoids the Sicilian and the French. e4, while not bad, is simply too commital for my tastes.

Thanks for the input.. who has some cool gambits and traps starting w/ 1. d4 ??
something im toying around with is the notion that 1. c4 may be better. My reasoning is that 1. c4 can transform into the english, queen's gambit and other good openings.. so maybe if im planning on playing a queen's gambit game i should start with c4 and see what black does.. maybe i dont want to play the queen's gambit after blacks first move.. with c4 im not as comitted.. who has a good opening where the first move absolutely HAS to be 1. d4?

e4 n d4 major opening moves at every level, toe to top, no reason to hate, its upto the style of player, e4 leads to much sharper games often...d4 is much tamed, seige begin after development by different move orders whereas e4 requires much more knowledge where single mis step finishes the game before it starts....
So I'm new to chess.com, this is my first forum posting. I'm also reletively new to studying this, the greatest game in the universe in-depth.
I've posted a game of mine where i thought i did reletively well. I planned to the best of my ability. I am very pleased to have exploited mostly positional errors in this game made by my opponent rather than the more common exploitation of out right blunders. I don't think he really made any total blunders out right.
I invite you all to critique it. I'd love to hear your feed back. Also, the real reason I posted this evening is because I want to hear everyone's favorite openings beginning with 1. d4 This has become a personal favorite of mine although I am exploring the bird, guioco piano, and english as well. So let me know what you like, let me know some of the best responses black may have to these d4 openings and let me know what I did wrong or right in my game.
Cheers
