1. e5 c5 2. Bc4?

This is a response I've gotten in a few games played. I'm no opening expert nor a chess expert but as far as I remember 2. Bc4 is considered quite unsound in the sicilian opening. Am I correct? 2... e6 really seems to destroy white's plans. So what is the idea behind the bishop move. Any help?

Well the thing is, I have played for quite a long time (not here at chess.com though) and I'm not having trouble against this variation, I'm actually playing very well against 2... Bc4. That's what made me wonder if it is a bad variation since I most of the time feel that I'm getting an advantage from this position. I have never played it as white though and maybe I should to get a better understanding of this variation.

Sorry to cause problems with this question though. I didn't know this was something commonly asked.
