I just got a book "How to Play 1. d4."
I regret buying it now. In reality, it should be titled: "How to Play The Benoni: A System That Promises No Advantage For Black.
what black system does promise an advantage?

Benoni either you like it or not is a very good choice for black but , it can either give you a great win or a bad loss...anyway it probably doesn't suit your playing style....maybe try sth more closed and defensive (if so watch some of petrosian's games against d4 and see what suits you...)

I agree, The St. George Defense also refutes 1.d4

Petrosian played some surprisingly spicy lines against 1.d4. A lot of KID's. He was just really good at defending the more awkward positions within them.

My last finished correspondence game on chess.com was a win from the Black side of a Czech Benoni. I made my last two moves between 4:00 and 5:00 am this morning.
LOL, even if that was somehow right, white is under no obligation to play 2.d5 & could transpose into regular kings indian lines where both sides have chances, and white still keeps his advantage of the first move.

dude your wrong.
1. d4, refuted? In my unqualified opinion... it's not.
~ 1. d4 player for life! (or a significant portion of it anyway)

No, YOU'RE wrong and you have been wrong since you wrote the title of the thread. Show this to all the top players. If this was true then this whole thing would of gone revolutionary by now. A sub 2200 player who thinks he has refuted decades upon decades and hundreds upon hundreds of books on 1. d4 by beating some people lower rated than himself - on the internet nonetheless - is nothing short of pathetic and downright insulting. Give it a rest. This does not refute 1. d4 in any way, shape or form.
Dude your wrong.
To end those fake and provoking claims of DJ:
I want to see a proof, by analysis, real variants, with evaluations that are plausible at their end. A proof that shows to everyone who has FIDE rating 2100 and up that 1.d4 c5, 2.d5 g6, 3.c4 Bg7, 4.Nc3 Bxc3+, 5.bxc3 f5 is 'winning for Black'.
Or at least proving that it gives Black a slight advantage.
He did not do it.
He cannot do it.
He knows that he can't.
To the contrary, he knows at least that the exchange Bxc3 followed by f5 is double-edged and risky for Black. If he doesn't know it, then he used in all games, that he proudly presents here, a strong engine, and he won because of that, and only because of that.
If he does not show proofs for his claim here - I give him one week for that, not more, I am mercyful, as you see - then he is proven to be an imposter.
