It's best to look at the Exchange Variation first. In my experience, it's played very frequently. If you don't like it, I'd recommend reconsidering the Caro Kann. It's similar to 1. e4. You have to like the Sicilian. Otherwise, 1.e4 isn't the right move.
I have been playing E4, E5 basically all my life and i now want to switch to Caro kann. Any advice on how i can learn the Caro Kann in a effective way? Any youtubers, websites, etc..
