against modern defence

Hallo,
I have problems against the modern defenve with white: 1. e4 g6 Bg7 and black played c6; d6; a6; 0-0; Qe7, e5 and f5 or the idea b5. If I play a4 then black played a5 with the idea Na6 to Nb4.
Have anyone a good idea to counter that and what is white attacking idea? I didn´t see there a good attack mark with the white pieces.
