Albin Countergambit

Sort:
Loomis

Instead of 7. Nf3, 7. Qg4+. This can be followed with Bc4, or if white prefers not to sac the a2 pawn, Bd2 first (though I have no problem opening queenside files with your king over there).

TheOldReb
Chess assistant gives 60% for white against the albin and 57%  after 2Nf3 Bf5  3c4 .......so white certainly isnt hurting in either of these lines.

I never claimed either of these were the best opening black could possibly play. But below master level, anything is playable, and the Albin and Baltic are both relatively sound openings that let black avoid the relatively quiet closed positions of the normal QGD lines. For some of us, that's really all we're looking for.
