Attack the pirc aggressively

This is one way I have had success dealing the pirc. F4 in the opening right away for complete control of the center. Develop quickly and just attack. If your opponent decides to ignore the center this is the best approach imo. Pirc players can be tricky as they just play “system” moves and respond to whites play. They need to be thrown off their agenda as soon as possible!

I often play the Pirc as black, although more frequently with a KID style fianchetto structure. Both e6 and everything following it are horrible moves from black. I've generally found f4 to be quite a welcome move, as it allows for countless na6 c5 ideas to immediately break open the center and take advantage of the weakened kingside with f5 eventually. It did work in this instance, although the opponent most definitely did NOT play any actual line of the Pirc, 1. ... d6 being the only thing somewhat close to the opening
