What's the hyper_accelerated dragon?

I think it goes like this.

The dragon is g6 on move 5

The accelerated dragon is g6 on move 4

The hyper-accelerated dragon is g6 on move 2

I don't know much about this but... I think the accelerated and hyper-accelerated aren't as good because they aren't as flexible and cut out some good alternatives for black depending on white's moves.

OTOH they're popular for club players due to some trappy lines and because there are less transpositions you need less book knowledge.  The idea of leaving the quarter of a pawn advantages for the GMs to sweat out.

(adding to my above post) I think one problem is white can play for the bind (marcozy bind).  Up until the 60s or 70s I think it was actually considered winning for white (so black never allowed it).  Now-a-days I guess it's considered equal enough, but no doubt very comfortable for white to play.

sicilian KAN for black :) so many opening traps for white to avoid...

youc are weak, why are uc so weak? its because u lack . . . chess skills and hatred

Pawnpusher3

Id say that the Sicilian najdorf or sveshnikov are the best choices for black f you want a win. If your looking to draw, just play a French

Ben_Dubuque

I like playing the Dragon, but have not played against it, I hate playing the Najdorf, but like playing against it

Mongoose Variation if you wanna annoy the White player:

It's a very rare variation, but it seems to give Black just as good chances as the more popular variations (e.g. it can lead to an 'Enhanced' Accelerated Dragon).
The best thing about this offbeat line is certainly that 99% of the White players will be out-of-book.

I don't think most players of the white pieces head into the Sicilian dreaming of a perfect Alapin.  They want to play e4, Nf3, d4, and Nc3 in some order.

Here, after 3.Nc3, d4 is right around the corner, and what does black have to show for it except a queen stuck off to the side of the board?
