Dutch is never better than d5 and Nf6, but at intermediate levels I do agree that it is a viable choice. You know what’s really best? Nimzo with QGD and Semi-Slav against anti-Nimzo with Stonewall Dutch against Catalan. It’s a genius repertoire that you could quite literally spend your whole life studying and never fully learn.

for best response against d4 i think it's the Indian Game because you keep your options open for going to d5, c5, e6, basically a reverse reti.
