IMBacon, I meant e4 for Black in response to White's d4 after White's e-pawn is long gone, but thank you for trying to answer my questions. Darunorthodox88, I do get that this sort of position is not as good for Black at it looks at first glance. I just thought maybe we should look at it because I don't think it's a bad Defense, yes because of the Super GM games too, but also because it's an unique line to the Bishop's opening, not a transposition to something else. If we're talking about the strategy of White playing the Bishop's opening I guess people here who want to use it to transpose to the Vienna or the Italian can say they want to exclude certain lines, but this stuff with c6 is then one of the things they are including. That's the main reason I was asking why White would want to include it, and I think people have been trying to answer that and you've given a satisfactory answer here.
