Calling All Dutch Defenders

I am just beginning to study the Dutch Defence and would like some insight from those who are more familiar with it. What is your preferred move 7 in the main line of the Leningrad Variation: Qe8, Nc6, or c6? Why do you choose this move? What are the positive and negative aspects of the positions you generally face? Thanks for your help.

Definitely c6.  This is a Birds reversed and I like the move c3 here in the Birds, so why not the Dutch?

has someone lost a move to get to that position in the birds?

to the OP, I play Qe8.  If you play the leningrad, you're looking for e5, Qe8 is the best way to further that aim.

I've tried c6, but I find it just makes my hard to develop queenside pieces more awkward.

worth pointing out, at club level, mainlines ain't so mainline.  i don't see this position as often as i'd like.

Interesting...

A Caro player playing the Dutch...O.O

What is the world coming to!?!??

A rock solid Caro Kann against 1.e4 but a super aggressive, shaky (like twice as aggressive as the Sicilian) Leningrad Dutch against 1.d4...

@andymanchan

Just wondering, why such vastly differing styles of play? Or are you trying to develop a more universal style or something?

I think Qe8 leads you more down the line of the ideal aim of the Lenningrad, e5. I don't like c6 at all. I have had some success with nc6, but dont love inviting that d5 push as i get lost with my knight on a6.
