What is a effective defense to the Colle opening? New player and my adversary uses it?

When I play the Colle, I hate the KID. g6 is a death blow.... there's ways to deal with it, but it would take you out of the Colle.  Many people do not like to go out of the Colle, so they wind up slipping up trying to make the Colle fit into the situation. Hope that helps !
